Establishes one bonus draft pick to owners who completes postseason semifinal play by Dec.31, beginning in 2010 (DCS Bonus Round).

PASSED 4/4/15
Owners who have exclusive draft rights on a player are permitted to slot that player in the DCS bonus pick, or a deferred bonus pick, for draft purposes.
PASSED 4/4/15
Deferred bonus picks must be used on a player the year after they are deferred.

PASSED 4/1/17
Annual dice roll for draft order modified as follows: DCS losers roll for No.1 pick; loser of that roll then rolls with WS loser for No.2 pick; loser of that roll takes No.3 pick; WS champion takes No.4 pick.

PASSED 3/25/18
DCS completion bonus picks will be used as an extra protection spot rather than assigned to end-of-draft bonus round.

PASSED 3/25/18
Clubs required to submit final protection list no later than three days before draft. Submissions modified only on appeal to league owners for a compelling reason.

PASSED 4/10/21
The Sphere will conduct a supplemental bonus round (according to regular draft order) on or about April 30 each year. Any additional supplemental rounds are subject to unanimous vote (See rule passed 4/2/00).

PASSED 4/10/21
Deferred bonus round picks shall be made prior to the next year's bonus round. Deferred supplemental picks shall be made prior to the next year's supplemental bonus round. No owner can hold two deferred picks at one time, either for bonus round or supplemental round.

PASSED 4/10/21
Should two or more owners defer bonus picks (regular bonus-round picks, or supplemental bonus picks) in the same year, the order of deferred picks shall fall under the draft order used in the draft from which the deferring occurred.

PASSED 4/27/21
Mr. Irrelevant Rule -- The League shall agree on a Mr. Irrelevant each year shortly following the Supplemental Draft. This player must be on the current disk, but he will not be eligible for postseason participation in the current year. Each owner may, but is not required to, submit a sealed envelope (hand-delivered or postmarked by May 1 for 2021 or such other date as shall be agreed for future years) identifying the round of the following year’s draft in which the owner intends to select Mr. Irrelevant. If the round so specified is higher (later) than the last round through which the owner may draft as determined on Draft Day, the owner shall be deemed to have selected that last available round. Bonus rounds may be selected, but are subject to uncertain availability. If more than one owner selects the same round, a roll shall determine the club that will get the player. A club may decline rights to Mr. Irrelevant at any point in the process. Thus, if the winning bidder passes on the choice at the designated round, the next top bidder, if any (or loser of the roll, if applicable), has the right to draft him in that owner’s designated round, and so on until Mr. Irrelevant is drafted or all rights to draft him are expired. He may only be drafted in the year in question as described in the preceding sentence, unless and until all clubs have passed on the process such that there is no winning bid that has not been waived, in which case any club may draft him at any time thereafter. The envelopes shall be opened and shared with the League in a live Zoom call on the evening of the last scheduled Sunday of the regular MLB season. This is a provisional exercise for 2021, to be re-visited for permanence in 2022.

PASSED 5/6/24
Any owner can submit a player they believe should be excluded from the available supplemental draft pool for the purposes of blocking a glitch player with a long-term injury who has already achieved minimum standards for protectable players. The proposal would need to be supported by a minimum of two owners (i.e. the proposing owner and at least one other).

PASSED 2/13/25
MR. IRRELEVANT RULE REVAMPED
Within three (3) days after the annual supplemental draft, each owner submits a single sealed name (via letter or email attachment) of any remaining undrafted player from the current disk to their divisional rival. Names remain sealed until the final Sunday of the MLB regular season. Each owner will then maintain the right to use an 8th round draft pick in the next draft to secure that player. For post-season eligibility purposes, any Mr. Irrelevants secured by owners are subject to draftable minimums for the following season's postseason play, since they are not technically protected.
At the time of protection announcements, each owner must decide whether they wish to spend their 8th round pick on their unsealed player. If an owner doesn't have an 8th rounder, that owner would have to use his next-highest choice to keep his Mr. Irrelevant.
If multiple owners select the same player, and two or more of those owners wish to retain the player, a pre-draft auction will take place, and the owner wishing to spend the highest draft pick would receive the player. Bidding would begin with the seventh round and rise from there, until all owners but one have bowed out. If owners bow out in the same round, or both owners wish to spend their first-round picks on the player, a dice roll would determine which owner receives the player.
